Stacy Montes
Stacy Montes is a graduate of Colorado State University and has devoted over 31 years to teaching dance at Mountain Kids in Fort Collins, Colorado. Throughout her tenure, she has held numerous leadership positions, including Dance Director, Performance Dance Companies Director, Summer Dance Camp Director, and Co-Director of the Mountain Dance Competition Dance Company. With more than 30 years of experience, Ms. Stacy has taught students ranging from ages 3 to adults, covering a wide array of dance styles. She has successfully produced comprehensive dance school recitals and has facilitated annual productions of "Nutcracker with a Twist." As a founding member, and board Secretary/Treasurer of High Performance Dance Theatre in Fort Collins, Ms. Montes actively engages in both choreography and performance. Her contributions extend to various community initiatives, including the New Visions Dance Festival, the Choreographers Showcase, and musical theatre productions at Bill Reed and Erwin Middle Schools in Loveland. Additionally, she has participated in several productions with the Fort Collins Children’s Theatre, including the upcoming 2025 production of "Wizard of Oz." In conjunction with her dance curriculum, Ms. Montes has served as a video production specialist for both Colorado State University and the Thompson School District, where she also instructed video editing at CSU. Outside of her professional commitments, Ms. Montes pursues a range of interests, including photography, floral design with Mitzi’s Flowers and Paul Wood Florist, kayaking, hiking, equestrian activities—particularly with a horse named Archie—jewelry making, and spending quality time with family and friends. She is a dedicated supporter of the Denver Broncos, often wearing orange and blue in their honor, and cherishes her pets. Motivated by her passion for teaching, children, and dance, Ms. Stacy is enthusiastic about launching a new initiative through her business, Dancing Blooms. Dancing Blooms Studios will form a partnership with Lime Light Fitness and their exceptional dance facilities, as well as High Performance Dance Theatre, to offer young dancers the opportunity to join a professional dance company and participate in performances. Ms. Montes aims to continue her mission of creating a nurturing environment for individuals of all ages, where they can express their creativity while learning fundamental dance techniques and etiquette. In addition to her dance endeavors, Ms. Montes utilizes her creative skills to design and sell original handmade botanical jewelry through her venture, Dancing Blooms Creations.
